Interview with Francesca Guatteri

Name
Francesca Guatteri

City
I was born in Venezuela, but I’ve lived in Milan for as long as I can remember.

Profession
I work in public relations, event planning, and digital PR as a consultant for companies and communication agencies.

What does coffee time represent for you? Do you prefer it alone or in company?
For me, coffee takes on many different meanings every day. A cup of coffee contains a true daily ritual.

I am a sociable person, and I would tend to answer this question by saying that coffee with company has a whole different taste. However, it is also true that I drink several solitary coffees throughout my days.

For example, I really like, once I have left the girls at school in the morning, to sit at a table in a bar completely alone and start the day with this moment all my own.

I take advantage of it to take a sigh of relief after the race experienced every morning to push two almost teenagers to get up, get dressed, and arrive on time for school. Or even to make a mental note of what my commitments for the day will be, agenda in hand.

The moment of coffee is for me a precious opportunity to find my inner calm and recharge my energies. It is often a moment of reflection and preparation for the day to come. At the same time, however, I also love to share this moment with others, because in front of a steaming cup, so many sensations can be experienced! Friendships, loves, and deep connections can be born.

Coffee is a bridge between introspection and sharing, and that’s why I love it. Both alone and in company.

What is your favourite coffee drink? E.g. espresso, cappuccino, macchiato, shakerato, iced.
I must confess that my favorite coffee drink is, without a doubt, espresso. Without milk, without sugar. What fascinates me is precisely its purity and intensity. I like to enjoy a good espresso as a moment of pure pleasure, perhaps accompanied by a cookie or with a piece of dark chocolate. It is a small treat that gives me a moment of joy with every sip. A coffee expert would surely turn up their nose at me, but I think coffee is a personal ritual, a moment of pleasure that is entirely subjective.

So I find that, if an espresso accompanied by a piece of dark chocolate can give us that special pleasure, then it is undoubtedly the right choice for us!

Name one adjective that identifies your coffee ritual.
Only one? I am not only talkative with words, but also with the sensations that this delicious drink arouses in me.

Enveloping… Passionate… Enchanted… Magical. Should I stop, right?

Interview with Ilaria Vita

Name
Ilaria

City
Adopted by Milan for 18 years now, but I was born in Rome and raised in Umbria.

Profession
I work in communication: after 15 years in an advertising agency, I opened my own communication studio and at the same time I manage the digital projects and events of Pepite per Tutti, the lifestyle project that I opened over 10 years ago.

What does coffee time represent for you? Do you prefer it alone or in company?
For me, coffee is a moment of pause and refreshment. I don’t like to drink it quickly and standing up, I like to take a break, even if it’s small, to drink it calmly.
Whether I drink it alone or in company depends a lot on the time of day when I have it: often stopping to drink it after taking my daughter to school and before starting the workday is a little treat that I allow myself alone or with my husband, while I really enjoy making an appointment with my friends for the ritual of ‘coffee and catch-up chat’.

There is no rule.

What is your favourite coffee drink? E.g. espresso, cappuccino, macchiato, shakerato, iced.
Actually, I love coffee in all its forms!
But if I had to choose, for me, as a good Italian, espresso wins over everything. I drink it bitter, I have never put sugar in it because it has always been drunk like this in my house.

If instead I feel like something different, when I can I prepare a Lecce coffee: I tasted it many years ago on vacation and I fell in love with it.
It makes me feel on holiday.

Name one adjective that identifies your coffee ritual.
Reassuring. And this adjective comes to mind especially when I think about the first coffee of the day, the one as soon as I wake up.

I open the window, let in the light, turn on the music at an imperceptible volume and prepare my coffee.

These are gestures that I repeat practically every morning in what is practically the moment when I am charging my energy to start the day.

Interview with Luisa Ambrosini

Name
Luisa Ambrosini

City
Bergamo but I am of Valtellina origins

Profession
I have been working in the field of digital communication for over 10 years, I have a degree in economics and business management but the passion for culinary culture has always been part of me.

What does coffee time represent for you? Do you prefer it alone or in company?
For me, the coffee moment is a moment of reflection in solitude. I sit immersed in the silence of the house and let its aroma envelop my senses. It’s as if each sip were a small interval of peace in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As I sip my coffee, my mind wanders through thoughts and projects, especially the To Do List of the day. I love organization!

The moment when the smell of freshly brewed coffee begins to spread in the kitchen is magical. I pour the hot coffee into the cup, feeling its aroma and watching how the foam remains firm and inviting on the surface.

The coffee moment represents a real ritual for me that allows me to welcome the new day that is about to begin.

What is your favourite coffee drink? E.g. espresso, cappuccino, macchiato, shakerato, iced.
I have a real addiction: cappuccino.
Every day starts with a special moment for me: my favorite moment, breakfast with cappuccino made with fresh milk.

Cappuccino for me is a ritual that celebrates the beauty of the little things, that reminds us to slow down and savor the beginning of the day. It is my favorite moment, a daily gift that I give myself. It is a habit that I have cultivated with care over the years and that represents my way of enjoying the tranquility of the morning.

The choice of using fresh milk is essential to ensure the creaminess and unique flavor of this drink. When I’m in a hurry, I enjoy the moment at the bar, but often I enjoy the silence of my home and I like to take the time to heat the milk to the right temperature, creating a soft and velvety foam that is the signature of an authentic cappuccino.

During the good season I love sipping my cappuccino on the terrace kissed by the sun, in the cold seasons instead I love tasting it sitting at the counter of my kitchen with my eyes on the rising sun.

The first sip is always the best. The rich and decisive taste of coffee blends with the sweetness of fresh milk, creating a perfect balance of flavors. It is an explosion of pleasure that fills me with good intentions and puts me in a good mood.

Name one adjective that identifies your coffee ritual.
A good cappuccino as soon as I wake up for me means good omen; I’m sure the day will go in the right direction!
